IBO minimumweight champion crowned at Emperors

Boxing fanatics witnessed five action-packed bouts at the Night of Reckoning boxing tournament.

The home of tournaments, Emperors Palace, in association with Golden Gloves hosted the Night of Reckoning boxing tournament.

The dynamite box-and-dine event took place on June 11, and featured five explosive bouts.

Die-hard boxing fans witnessed the likes of Chaz Wasserman, Joshua Studdard, Simphiwe Khonco and Johnny Muller live in action.

Headlining the bout card was Kevin Lerena who took on Roberto Bolonti over 10 rounds in the international cruiserweight division.

Full fightcard results:

  • Fiston Kabamba (Democratic Republic of Congo) and Chaz Wasserman (South Africa) fought four rounds in the light heavyweight division. It was a draw.
  • Ayanda Nkosi beat Joshua Studdard on points over six rounds in the junior featherweight division.
  • In the international cruiserweight division, South African Kevin Lerena beat Roberto Bolonti (Argentina) on points over 10 rounds.
  • In the international cruiserweight division, Johnny Muller (South Africa) was beaten by Micki Nielsen (Denmark) on points over 10 rounds.
  • Simphiwe Khonco beat Siyabonga Siyo over 12 rounds and was crowned the IBO minimumweight champion of the world.
