Be a part of the Elsburg Eagles

Do you have what it takes to join the Elsburg Eagles Rugby Club?

The Elsburg Eagles Rugby Club’s season preparations are in full swing and the club is eager to add more players to their various teams.

The club, that caters for age groups u-6 to u-18, practises from 6pm to 8pm on Monday and Wednesday, at the club’s grounds at the corner of Heidelberg Road and Egret Street in Elspark.

The club’s team of 14 highly qualified coaches focus on all players interested in playing rugby and teach each player all they need to know to excel in the sport.

“We teach the potential players about safety, a series of various skills needed in rugby, as well as, the rules of the game,” said Tyron Smuts club chairman.

“Our coaches are BokSmart qualified and IRB (level one and two) qualified, and are continuously improving their skills.”

A number of the senior side coaches also have years of personal experience on the rugby field behind them, giving them an extra edge when it comes to training.

For more information on the club call Smuts on 083 285 9470.

The club is also looking for community members interested in coaching or team management at Elsburg Eagles Junior Rugby.

Interested parties can contact Smuts.

“Training and courses for coaching are available through us,” he said.
