Hard-fought draw for Luso

Luso Africa managed to get a draw at home on Saturday.

It was an extremely muddy affair when Luso Africa and Benoni Northerns took to the pitch on Saturday.

The teams battled it out at Luso’s home grounds, Hattingh Park, in Primrose East in an Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) super league clash.

The weather did nothing to lift the spirits of the teams or the spectators as both teams tried to capitalise and get ahead.

A goal from the visitors saw Luso having to rethink their game plan and with Benoni Northerns having most of the possession, it looked like Northerns would take the win.

However, a good goal by Mario Ferriera put the team back on track with the scoreline 1-1.

The rest of the match played out with no more goals from either team.

It was a hard-fought draw for the first side.

Luso’s reserve team faired far better in their clash against the Benoni Northerns reserve team.

With two goals by Brent Vos and one from Mike Lume, the team sailed through to a 3-1 win.

Luso is set to face Boksburg FC in an away match this Saturday.
