Top fighters in action at EFC 49

Great EFC action takes to the hexagon this Friday at Carnival City.

Another massive bout has been confirmed for EFC 49 taking place at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena this Friday (May 13).

The headline fight for the vacant EFC middleweight title at the upcoming EFC 49 will see South African favourite JP “Tinkerbell” Kruger face England’s Yannick “Black Mamba” Bahati.

In addition, two-time heavyweight champion Andrew “One Gear” van Zyl makes his return to the hexagon for the first time since losing his title to Frenchman Cyril Asker.

While many believe he should have been granted a shot at the vacant belt in April, van Zyl now gets his chance to cement his position as one of the best, when he faces the Polish giant Tomasz “Kredka” Kowalkowski.

The Pole made a spectacular debut with a flying knee that led to a first round total knock-out stoppage over boxing champion Elvis Moyo.

In his second outing he faced Brendon Groenewald and fell victim to the former champion’s sublime jiu-jitsu.

Following a groundbreaking broadcast partnership, all EFC events will now take place on Friday nights instead of Saturdays.

EFC will now be broadcast live on Kwesé Sports from 8pm and delayed live on e.tv in South Africa from around 10.30pm (after the evening movie).
