Fun games competition coming up for children

It’s all systems go for the 2016 Ekurhuleni Kiddies Games.

In a bid to nurture the development of children’s fine-motor abilities and athletic skills, the metro will host this year’s instalment of the Ekurhuleni Kiddies Games, at Mehlareng Stadium, in Tembisa.

The event is set to take place on May 14, from 9am to 3pm.

Over 1 000 children between the ages of four and six years will participate in the games, with a total of 45 nursery schools per region (South, North and East) registered to take part.

Activities on the day will include ball throwing, ball hopping, ring throwing, ball kicking, ball dribbling, cycling and balancing acts.

The Ekurhuleni Kiddies Games commenced with a competition among pre-schools from across the metro, at Customer Care Area level, and then advanced to regional games, which will now culminate in the metro-wide games.
