Building up for the new season

The body builders at Unique Physique are training hard for the new season.

Unique Physique, located in Primrose, is gearing up for the new season of bodybuilding and fitness competitions.

This year the gym has quite a few new clients who will be competing for the first time, including Annelize Brits and Elnerie Kleynhans, who will compete in the bikini divisions.

There are also several men and young men who will be competing in the u-23 divisions, weight groups and senior divisions.

Logan Wessels, Tembani Masoka Zulu and Kyle van der Sandt will compete in the junior and weight divisions, while Taki Kapatos will compete as a novice.

“We are expecting big results from Lucky Tankiso and Mandla Masha, who have been preparing for the past year.

“They have both improved drastically and I am sure they will both do well,” said Marius Wessels from Unique Physique.

“Charles Wagner will also compete and improve on last year’s results.

“Charles has pushed the limits of his body and mind and has improved, putting on size and lean muscle.”

Marius Wessels and Jean Bertillon will compete in the over-50-year division (veterans).

The competition’s club members will be competing in, but not limited to, the Millennium Gold Plate on April 16, the Novice Show on May 7, the Muscle Mulisha Grand Prix, Boksburg Classic on August 6, the Provincial Championships on August 20 and the SA Championships later in the year.

“We as Unique Physique are very proud of all the competing athletes. It takes special dedication and it is not easy.

“An understanding of what these athletes go through can only truly be understood once you have competed yourself,” said Marius.

“Competing in a bodybuilding or fitness show takes extreme dedication to training, nutrition and competition preparation.”
