Club celebrates its champions

Germiston Golf Club recently held its 2016 Club Championships.

The event took place over an entire weekend.

Defending champion Donovan Pearse successfully defended his title as Club Champion for 2016 and won the honours of Mid-am Champion, scoring 144 gross.

Gavin Marshall, the vice-captain of the club, won the Seniors B Division.

Youngster Ross Morley-Jepson from St Benedict’s won the B Division and Junior Club Championship with an impressive 159 gross, and Duncan Hill was named the Overall Seniors Champion.

Basil Cambanis won the C Division by a great margin of 10 strokes on a score of 175 gross.

Basil’s wife, Nicolene, won the Ladies Club Championship, Di Frankleyne won the Bronze Division and Elizabeth van der Walt, won the Copper Division.

The club extends gratitude to Jarrod Gold, from Shaya Fire, who sponsored this year’s Club Championships.
