Futballing Girls launches coaching clinics for girls

Local organisation promotes football for girls.

Futballing Girls is a non-profit organisation founded by Moonira Ramathula, with the aim of developing girl football players.

This will ensure that girls receive the correct training and coaching to build their confidence and help them to develop into better football players.

“Understanding that there are many socio-economic factors which influence the development of the girl child, and being aware of the scarce resources for girls aspiring to be professional football players, we aim to ensure that as many girls as possible are offered proper training and coaching, hence we are providing free coaching clinics every Saturday,” said Ramathula.

The coaching clinics, which are run by women coaches who offer their services voluntarily, take place from 9.30am to 11am, every Saturday, at the Elspark Sports Grounds.

Futballing Girls wants to reach all communities and all young girls aspiring to be footballers.

Unfortunately, not all the girls can afford football training apparel.

“We, therefore, appeal to the public to donate all used football boots, football kits and soccer equipment; this will assist us in building strong football foundations and building confidence within these young girls,” said Ramathula.
