Support the elderly by playing golf

Make a difference for charities by teeing off.

It’s almost time for the Turn ‘n Tender Golf Day.

The event takes place on November 9 ,at the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club.

It will see seven charities benefiting from a month of fund-raising in-store, as well as the golf day itself.

The Turn ‘n Tender branches involved are Bryanston, Boksburg, Bedfordview, Bassonia, Dainfern, Illovo and Parktown North.

What makes the event, which kicks off in October (the Month of the Elderly), so special for Germiston is that Dimitri Papadakis, the owner of the Bedfordview and Bassonia branches of Turn ‘n Tender has chosen Elandsvallei Home for the Aged in Primrose as the Bedfordview restaurant’s beneficiary.

His Bassonia branch’s beneficiary is St Mary’s Children’s Home.

You still have time to help the elderly by registering to play on the day.

Your fee will include green fees, dinner (catered by Turn ‘n Tender), wine tastings and loads of entertainment.

To make the day an even bigger success, the hosts are still looking for donations of prizes, as well as sponsorships for holes.

So far golfers can look forward to winning some awesome prizes, including a 40-inch flat screen TV; a private wine blending and tasting evening with Jenny Ratcliff; a two-night stay at the LaVinier Wine Estate Lodge; a weekend away with golf at the Ernie Els Wine Estate and a two-night stay at the Thorny Bush Resort.

For more information, to book a four-ball or to sponsor a hole or prizes, contact Glen Dembo on 011 455-1000.

Help to make the day a huge success and put smiles on the faces of the charity organisations.
