Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) held its second Track and Field League event, at the Germiston Stadium, on Saturday.

CGA is the athletics provincial body that is responsible for the administration of the sport of athletics in the central part of Gauteng.

Athletes from different parts of the country came out in numbers to showcase their talent in their different categories.

Discus, shot put, high jump, long jump and hurdles were among the events in which athletes took part throughout the day.

Germiston Callies athletes were among those putting their skills and stamina to the test.

Kayla Gilbert, Pedro Aaron, Lemuel Klaasen, Samuel Gray, Angelia Gouws and Marizaan van Wyk were the local athletes competing.

“Our athletes have done it once again, raising the name of Germiston high,” said Germiston Callies’ Stephané Kotze.

“They did very well.”

“I am proud of our athletes; they performed very well, it really was a great day,” concluded Kotze.
