Fasten your karate belt and compete

Karatekas from Lambton's Tebbutts Mixed Martial Arts Academy are preparing to compete at a karate tournament set to take place in September.

The Development Karate Tournament is scheduled to take place at the Kempton Park Indoor Sport Centre, corner of Plane and Green Avenues, on September 12.

Lambton’s Tebbutts Mixed Martial Arts Academy will be among the clubs competing at the competition.

“We are in training at the moment and hope to produce great results at the tournament,” said the club’s Master Alex Tebbutt.

“We always participate in this competition and we always put on our best performance.”

Semi and light contact, musical forms and musical weapons will be the styles to witness at the event.

The weigh-in will take place on the day, from 7am to 8.30am with, the action kicking off at 9am.

Entry fees vary for first and extra events.
