Luso’s two gripping fixtures

One win, one loss.

Luso Africa FC’s second and first sides played against Benoni Northerns FC, on Saturday, at Hattingh Park, in Primrose East.

The second team’s match was a Super League Reserves fixture, while the first teams was a Super League match.

Luso’s first team joined the audience in cheering on the second team as they waited their turn.

The first half saw a dominant Luso side which was later rewarded by a fine goal from Brandon Hendricks.

Fair-play gave way until half-time.

Luso was missing in the second half and Northerns took full advantage of that and landed a bended shot which defeated Luso’s goalkeeper, Dillan Ribeiro.

In what seemed like two minutes after their first goal, Northerns put a second one into the net.

With a 2-1 score in favour of Northerns, Luso reverted back to a full-on defence formation, with very little attack.

Though Luso’s robust defence ensured no more goals from Northerns, it also led to them not scoring any more goals.

A few attempts were witnessed from Luso but none were successful.

Luso’s second team lost 2-1 to Benoni Northerns FC.

Another greatly anticipated fixture was that of the first teams.

Luso’s side dominated from the beginning right through a penalty shot within minutes of start of the first half.

Just before half-time, another goal was scored by Luso.

Luso secured their 2-0 lead until the end of the match.
