Join ESDA and play darts

Play darts at the Dinwiddie Sports Club.

The Ekurhuleni South Darts Association (ESDA) calls out to everybody interested in playing darts to come join the association.

“The association has been going for over twenty years, we were formerly known as the Near East Rand Darts Association, our name changed to Ekurhuleni South Darts Association, last year,” said the ESDA’s chairman, Chantal Dreyer

“We play darts every Monday night at the Dinwiddie Sports Club, situated in Cheam Crescent, Dinwiddie.”

“Registration and payments for entry closes at 7.45pm and games start at 8pm.”

Dreyer said on Wednesday nights they play team events.

“The teams are made up of four men or women and games are played at various clubs within our association,” she said.

“We currently have 53 active players.”

“Two of our players were selected for the Gauteng Provincial teams last year, Marlene Fulford for the women’s team, they won silver at the Darts South Africa Nationals 2014; and Abigail Dreyer for the u-18 team.”

“Among other things, some of our players have received national colours over the years and in Gauteng tournaments our players have also obtained various achievements in team events, as well as in doubles and single events.”

Dreyer said one of the association’s main objectives is to develop the sport of darts within the youth and to promote the sport within the area.
