Wrestling action in Primrose

Championships a huge success.

The action-packed Hansie Naude Championships were held at the Primrose Wrestling Club on Saturday.

The championships, hosted by the Benoni Wrestling Club, saw 97 wrestlers, from different parts of the East Rand, participate in various categories.

“All wrestlers received sports bags sponsored by our parents,” said Benoni Wrestling Club’s vice-secretary, Debbie du Toit.

Among the clubs represented, the Elsburg Wrestling Club had wrestlers showing off their skills at the championships.

Jacques Kriel from the Elsburg Wrestling Club, was one of the referees who made sure the fights ran smoothly and by the books.

“Lucky draws and hampers were among the events which took place on Saturday, and four lucky parents walked away with hampers after answering tough wrestling questions,” explained du Toit.

“We, at the Benoni Wrestling Club, always strive to make this event the best of the year.

“Thank you to everyone who made this day the huge success that it was.”

“The facilities were great, and we managed to run everything smoothly and finish the day’s events in record time, without major glitches.”
