Tebbutt Academy’s annual prize-giving a success

Athletes congratulated for the hard work.

Tebbutts Mixed Martial Arts Academy ended the year with a prize-giving ceremony at their Lambton dojo on December 6.

“We had a very successful year throughout, we started on a good note and managed to sustain the same momentum the whole year round,” said Master Alex Tebbutt.

“I am proud of all the club members as they stuck together and encouraged each other during competitions and training sessions.”

Tebbutt said they also hosted great tournaments throughout.

“We not only excelled in the competitions we took part in, but held successful tournaments here at our dojo, it was a great year for us indeed,” explained Tebbutt.

Club members were accompanied by their friends and family members who applauded for every award presented.

Just before concluding the ceremony Tebbutt reminded club members about one of the club’s important rules.

“Let me remind you that nobody, in the club, leaves without an award, each of you receive an award for the hard work and dedication that you showed throughout the year,” he said.

The club members enthusiastically stood to receive their well-deserved trophies.

“I would also like to thank people who are not signed to the club, who went out of their way to assist us when we needed assistance, you might not be signed to the club but you all are part of the family,” said Tebbutt.

“That goes out to the parents as well, thank you for supporting your children and the club.”

“I wish everybody here and the community of Germiston a joyful festive season.”

“The club will re-open on January 12 and we have new sessions lined up for the New Year, the doors are always open for new members,” he said.
