Last chance to get on board for the Germiston SPCA Golf Day.
The Germiston SPCA’s annual golf day is set to take place on Friday.
This is your last chance to get on board and get involved in all the fun of the day.
This year the GCN is the media partner for the golf day and we are urging the community to assist us in making this a huge fund-raising event.
The money will go a long way towards assisting the Germiston SPCA through its current financial crisis.
So far a number of players have committed to the event, but we are still looking for more.
What better way to spend a Friday, than by tackling the challenge of a golf course while raising money for a good cause at the same time.
The event takes place at the Glendower Golf Club, from 11am, on November 7.
The competition takes the form of a Four-ball Alliance Stableford, with two scores to count.
The cost per four-ball is R2 000 and this includes your green fees and a light supper at the prize-giving.
We are also still looking for prizes for the event, as well as people to sponsor holes.
With regard to prizes for players, please donate four of the same type of prize to be handed out to the teams.
Some prize ideas, include golf-related items, drinking flasks, car cleaning kits, Cadac gas cylinders, umbrellas, braai sets, tog bags, hampers, bottles of wine, golf shirts, golf towels, shavers, watches, etc.
There will also be a raffle on the day and prizes for this will also be greatly appreciated.
You are also welcome to make a monetary donation.
Should you wish to sponsor a hole or green for the day, the cost thereof is R1 500 per green or hole.
Only two watering holes are allowed on the day, one on each nine.
You can come along set up your banners and plan some fun for the players.
