Local golfer heads for SA Blind Golf Open

Ernst Conradie, from Primrose, is preparing to attend the South African Blind Golf Open in Stellenbosch, in November.

Conradie told the GCN that it will be the first time that this tournament will have international players participating in it.

“This will be my second SA Blind Golf Open, I came fourth in the last such event, that was played at the Modderfontein Golf Club, in 2013,” he said.

“I also attended the 2013 British Blind Golf Open and finished among the first 10 players; I was also a finalist at the Ekurhuleni Sports Awards.”

Among other accolades, Conradie won the 2012 South African Disabled Golf Open in the visually impaired category.

Conradie added that he is looking forward to the competition in November.
