Top of the league clash
Germiston City FC and Corinthians FC vie for the number one spot.
The Delville Sports Club hosted a fixture between the u-17 players of Germiston City FC and Corinthians FC, on Sunday.
It was an interesting ELFA Premier League final.
Prior to the match, Corinthians were top of the league by two points, which gave City hopes of moving from second to first.
The spectators witnessed first class football as Corinthians landed an unexpected goal from a corner kick.
The goal surprised not only the City boys, but also the scorers who, seemingly, didn’t think they had scored.
The goal shook things up a bit and saw City diverting from a full-force attack to a robust defence formation.
Along with proving why both teams are at the top of the league, winning the league was a massive driving force for the players to give all they had to the game.
Both teams played really well, but there could be only one winner and on Sunday it was Corinthians’ turn to win.
They walked away with a 5-3 win, taking the league.
