Football action at Hattingh Park

All-out-action between Luso Africa and Randburg.

Luso Africa FC’s first team faced Randburg FC, at Hattingh Park, on Saturday.

It was an interesting fixture to watch, as it was quite clear that both teams are skilled and determined to win.

The warm-up analysis session showed more dominance in Randburg’s play, while Luso saw this as an opportunity to shake things up a bit, with a long-shot and bended goal in the first half.

The goal definitely rattled Luso’s opponents, who reverted to a robust defence line and neglected attack, just to ensure no further goals from Luso till half-time.

The scoreboard was sitting at 1-0 in favour of Luso when the fixture went into half-time.

Randburg seemed to have gone back to the drawing board during the break, as they gave Luso a tough time and still managed to increase their almost non-existent shots at target.

Things got a bit tense when Randburg’s goalkeeper was shown a red card, as a result of a foul on his opponent.

The referee signaled for a substitute and Randburg’s substitute goalie came onto the field with no further delay.

Back to the basics worked well for Randburg, who landed a fine and well-deserved goal towards the end of the game.

Just as a 1-1 draw was expected, Randburg bagged another goal, minutes before the game ended, securing their 2-1 lead against Luso.

It was all spills and no thrills for Luso, as their reserve team lost 2-0 earlier, just before the first team game.
