Successful golf day held for Germiston Child Welfare

Child Welfare hosts fun golf day.

Local charity organisation, Germiston Child Welfare, held a successful gold day fund-raiser at the Germiston Country Club, on Thursday.

Director of Germiston Child Welfare Barbara Bouwer thanked everyone who contributed to making the day a huge success, including all sponsors, participants, donors and volunteers (both local and those visiting from overseas).

The master of ceremonies at the prize giving evening Warren Brosnian gave an inspirational speech about setting goals for yourself and then ensuring the achievement thereof.

He also spoke about the importance of making a difference in the lives of the people close to you and making an effort to support activities and services of organisations like Child Welfare.

A bit of spice was brought to the evening by a visit from the Blue Bulls Dancers, who entertained the participants and this brought a little something special to the night.

A large number of prizes were received from generous donors and each participant in the golf day walked away with a prize.

“On behalf of the board of management and the staff of Germiston Child Welfare we express a very special thank you to everyone for their support and it is believed that we have reached our target set for the fund-raiser.

“The fun had by everyone was an extra bonus and we look forward to next year’s golf day,” said Bouwer.
