Don’t miss the exciting FightStar 7

Have you bought your tickets?

Amateur MMA supporters should try to get their hands on FightStar 7 tickets, as the tournament comes to the St John’s Hellenic Hall, in Primrose, on May 31.

The FightStar Amateur Fighting Championship promises bigger and better action than before; and never before have they disappointed.

FightStar showed it could handle giving the big stage feel, with huge lighting rigs, gigantic screens along the walls and food and bar areas that far surpass previous events.

Bringing in the top talents of South Africa’s vast amateur division in mixed martial arts (MMA), FightStar is always looking to bring fights worth remembering to the crowds.

“FightStar is growing from strength to strength and this promises to be our most explosive event to date; not only is it the biggest amateur MMA promotion in Africa, but it’s also the most exciting,” said FightStar president Pietro Cignolli.

“There are big things in the pipeline for 2014; Fightstar will be growing amateur MMA in South Africa and the rest of Africa from all levels.”

Each FightStar has brought memorable bouts, both regular and for the title.

There are already rumours flying around about an out-of-this-world fight card for FightStar 7, and twitter is ripe with chatter about the up-coming event.

Many professional athletes are always spotted at FightStar, supporting the amateurs, cornering their own fighters or simply just there to show support for the world’s fastest growing sport.

“FightStar 7 is going to be an explosive evening of MMA, massive fights on the bill with some of South Africa’s top amateurs,” said the matchmaker for FightStar, Grant Oliff.

Further more, there will be a Blanket Drive raffle at FightStar 7, where they will be accepting donations of blankets to keep the less fortunate warm this winter.

Each blanket donation will receive a ticket, and the winning ticket will receive a mystery FightStar hamper on the night.

A fight card adjustment; Warren King is out due to an injury sustained in training, and team CIT’s Tjaart Henning steps up to the plate to face Mamoudou “Frenchie” Toure, for the featherweight title.

Henning hopes to take the belt home, even though Toure is known for his explosive power and has his eyes set on the gold, no matter who is in the way.

“Unfortunately, King’s injury was a massive blow, but Henning is an experienced athlete from a top gym and you can be assured that this is going to be a massive scrap,” said Oliff.

It is not too late to get your hands on tickets, as they are still available.

Get your tickets now, because FightStar 7 is definitely an event not to be missed.
