FightStar 7 is around the corner

Don't miss the seventh edition of FightStar.

FightStar 7 is just around the corner; do you have your tickets yet?

FightStar 7 comes to Primrose once again on May 31.

Promising to be the biggest show of South African amateur mixed martial arts (MMA) talent there has ever been, FightStar is looking to change the way people see amateur MMA.

With the featherweight title on the line, and rumours of an epic fight card that has yet to be released, FightStar will definitely live up to its name as the biggest amateur MMA promotion in South Africa.

One of the most stand-out aspects of every FightStar is the T-shirt that every fighter receives at weigh-ins.

Fighters, coaches and supporters are always asking where they might be able to get one for a friend or themselves.

Hunter MMA has been on the scene with FightStar for the last six events, sponsoring the T-shirts for fighters, and so far the results have been out of this world.

This has opened the door for another partnership to be created, this time round for a whopping 10 events of FightStar, and Hunter MMA will be creating the amazing gear for both the fighters and the supporters, starting at FightStar 7.

“It’s a great honour to be working with the guys from Fightstar, Grant Oliff and Pietro Cignoli,” said the founder and owner of Hunter MMA, Sandro Avellini.

“I have been working with Cignoli on the development team (Fightingfit – team guru) and we built a great relationship and have moved on from there.

“When I was approached I didn’t hesitate to become involved, as I am always willing to help out where I can for the development of MMA in South Africa, and I believe that FightStar is just that.

“It’s a stepping stone for amateur fighters before they take that big step to the pro ranks.

“We are both helping each other with great exposure and they’re getting great walkout tees for their fighters, which is great, because then they can show that they fought in an amateur event.”

Avellini added that they are also looking at producing some supporters’ tees and some other apparel further down the line.

FightStar is growing from strength to strength after each event, so to start with there will be a supporters’ tee, to see how the sales go, and then the team will take it from there.

Fans are encouraged to be on the lookout for the new designs on Facebook and Twitter.

“Fightstar is very excited to announce that we will be partnering up with Africa’s most exciting independent MMA lifestyle brand, Hunter MMA,” said FightStar president Pietro Cignoli.

“As Africa’s premier amateur MMA promotion it was an easy decision for us; Avellini has supported us from day one and his insane T-shirt designs are very popular and are worn by our fighters with great pride.”

“Not only will Hunter MMA be designing and sponsoring the official FightStar fighters T-shirts, but he will also be designing and manufacturing the FightStar Range of Supporter Shirts and accessories,” Cignoli explained.
