Big promises for FightStar 7

Bigger and better FightStar 7.

The FightStar Amateur Fighting Championship have previously made promises of being bigger and better than before; and not once have they disappointed.

Now, with FightStar 7 coming up on May 31, they’ve promised this will be the best event they’ve staged yet.

With St John’s Hellenic Hall, in Primrose, the new venue used for FightStar 6, FightStar showed that they could handle giving the big stage atmosphere, with huge lighting rigs, gigantic screens along the walls and food and bar areas that far surpassed previous events.

Bringing in the top talents of South Africa’s vast amateur division in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), FightStar is always looking to bringing the crowd fights worth remembering.

“FightStar is growing from strength to strength and this promises to be our most explosive event to date; not only is it the biggest Amateur MMA promotion in Africa, but it’s also the most exciting,” said FightStar president Pietro Cignolli.

“There are big things in the pipeline for 2014; Fightstar will be growing amateur MMA in South Africa and the rest of Africa from all levels.”

Each FightStar has brought memorable bouts, both regular and for the title.

There are already rumours flying about an out-of-this-world fight card for FightStar 7, and twitter is ripe with chatter about the upcoming event.

Many professional athletes are always spotted at FightStar, supporting the amateurs, cornering their own fighters or simply just there to show support for the world’s fastest growing sport.

“FightStar 7 is going to be an explosive evening of MMA, massive fights on the bill with some of South Africa’s top amateurs,” said Fightstar’s matchmaker, Grant Oliff.
