Academy bags Ekurhuleni colours and grading

Ekurhuleni colours, grading and growth for local club.

The Tebbutt Mixed Martial Arts Academy hosted a tough and intense grading session on April 5, at their club, in Lambton.

“Gradings are never easy; they require a lot of focus, training and determination,” said the owner and master of the club, Master Alex Tebbutt.

A total of 60 members of the club were graded; they all passed and have progressed to their next level belt.

“I have always been proud of my club members, especially in competitions; they put in a lot of effort, which is one of the main reasons why they always perform well, they never disappoint,” said Tebbutt.

The club has also seen eight members participating in the WAKO Kickboxing Trials, that were recently held at the Brakpan Sports Centre.

“It gives me great pleasure to say congratulations to all those who took part in the trials; they did exceptionally well and received Ekurhuleni colours,” said Tebbutt.

The members who received colours will head for the WAKO Kickboxing Championships, on May 2-3, in Pretoria.

Tebbutt told the GCN that the club continues to grow in numbers.

“When looking at our growth, I could say that the Tebbutt Academy grows by the day; more and more people are joining our club, which is also one of our highlights for the year thus far,” added Tebbutt.
