Hoërskool Goudrif won the inter-high athletics for the ninth consecutive year, recently.
The inter-high was held at the Germiston Stadium and various high schools from around Germiston participated.
“I am proud of all our athletes, they trained hard, gave their all on race day and now their hard work has paid off,” said Hoërskool Goudrif and Germiston Callies coach Stephané Kotzé.
For the past nine years, Goudrif has been the defending champion of the inter-highs, boasting both junior and senior victor and victrix ludorums.
The school’s outstanding athletes are Kaylin van Rooyen, Tiaan Gerber, Pedro Aaron and Angelique Bosch, and these were their achievements of the day:
- Kaylin van Rooyen (u-14) – won both the 200m and 400m female sprint races and came second in the 100m sprint.
- Tiaan Gerber (u-17) – won the 100m and 200m male sprints and the long jump.
- Pedro Aaron (u-15) – won the 100m, 200m and 400m male sprints, 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles and the long jump.
- Angelique Bosch (u-17) – won the 100m, 200m and 400m female sprints, long jump, shot put and discus.
Between them, the four athletes chalked up 17 first places.
