Editor – The Covid-19 measures are there to keep us safe.The thought of returning to school was exciting. Getting to see my friends again and to get my matric year back on track. The day had finally arrived.
As I walked through the school doors, it was different and I knew things were not going to be the same. I guess I knew in the back of my mind things were going to be different, but actually being back felt surreal.
Every morning we must check in by completing a questionnaire, sanitise and have our temperatures taken. Always keeping a social distance when walking to class, sitting in class, at break and even when we are being taken to the bathrooms by a member of the youth brigade to make sure we follow the rules.
All these measures are there to keep us safe, and that makes it easier to accept our new normal.
