Follow your dreams, but don’t give up your education

Primrose resident advises teenagers to put their education first.

Alpheus Makoso from Primrose writes:

Many teenagers see music as an upliftment or an easy jackpot in life, but it is not true.

Many youngsters in Mzansi dedicate themselves to one thing, which is music, and they end up dropping out of school and chasing the so-called dream.

It is good to have dreams, but do not let your dreams become your doom.

And teenagers often use artists as examples of success, for example Cassper Nyovest.

Many children look up to Cassper and end up following a rap career because Cassper didn’t finish his matric, but yet he is successful, and that is seen as an advantage by most South African children.

It is not all of us who get the sweetest voice, so let’s discover our true talents and potential.

Education is a guaranteed jackpot to life.

If we study, we will be able to overcome most of our financial, physical and political struggles.

One thing to remember is that education will always be the key to knowledge and success.
