Tackling the flu one tissue and home-remedy at a time.
Amanda Bayana: “Add a cup of water, ginger, garlic, lemon and a bit of sugar into a pot, boil for 15 minutes and drink. In three days you’ll start feeling better.”
Yvonne Mnisi: “I add lemon to my diet the moment I detect any flu symptoms. It not only helps with the flu, but adds extra flavour to my food too.”
Tshepo Moabelo: “I add a bit of ginger, honey, lemon and Panado into a pot, boil for ten minutes and I wait for it to cool before drinking it.”
Samkelo Mkhize: “I do not have any home-made remedies. I am one of those people who sticks to what the doctor prescribes. Anything with paracetamol is my remedy.”
Maria Selemela: “I mix vinegar, sugar, a few drops of cooking oil, onion and warm water into a cup, stir and drink. It definitely helps with a dry throat.”
Elisha Perumal: “Fortunately I never get the flu, but since chili pepper can warm you up I would think a good hot curry would help fight that battle for you.”
