Community members eagerly wait for the colourful season that is spring.
Rethabile Machika: “Spring is the rebirth of most things. It is also the time to reflect on past mistakes and find ways to rectify them. People come together through its bright colours.”
The beginning of spring is just a few days ago.
As we know, September 1 is the first day of spring and a day where most of us expect warmth, colour, clear skies and the bright sun.
Spring is the time where we shed our winter layers and bake in the sun.
Community members didn’t waste time to share what they love about the spring season
Makgotso Mashifane: “Everything comes alive in spring. People host functions during this season. I love the atmosphere and the fresh breeze in spring. Everybody comes out of their winter shells in spring.”
Kingston Motona: “I truly enjoy the fresh air because we can relax outside under a tree. The flowers smell fresh and we put on less clothes and the sun doesn’t set quickly.”
Sizwe Mazibuko: “This season is refreshing and sunny. The weather is warm and you are able to walk outside in the evening and wear what you want. Everything is colourful during spring.”
Lungile Nxumalo: “There are no more winter coats and we get to wear what we want. There are a lot of outdoor activities and the change of season gives a fresh start.”
Lindokuhle Ditsi: “Everything comes to life and becomes bright during this season. The weather is warm and we get to show off our beautiful bodies and enjoy the breeze that cools us off.”
