Why do we need hospitals?

Children tell us why they think hospitals are important.

Caylin Conway (6): “We need hospitals because people get sick and they can make you better.”

After a visit to the Life Roseacres Hospital in Solheim, young children were asked why they thought a hospital was important.

Here are their responses:

Khayelihle Mthethwa (6): “A hospital is there because people get sick and also they keep babies warm.”

Lukuna Nyathela (5): “Babies are born in hospitals. Also if you get hurt you can go to the hospital.”

Gladys Kangote (5): “When people are sick they can go to a hospital and they will be made better.”

Bridgette Ward (6): “We need them because children get sick and hurt and the hospital is there to help.”

David Do Casal (6): “If you have a broken leg or a bad ‘eina’ the hospital will fix it and make you better.”
