Juicy Tidbits – Ekurhuleni and Caxton meet for new look at the city

As a journalist taking photos is part of my daily life.

Through this I have grown to truly love taking photos and enjoy photography sites like Instagram, so I was eager to get involved in the instameet hosted by our Caxton digital team and representatives of the Ekurhuleni media department.

What’s an instameet?

Since the earliest days of Instagram, people have been meeting up to take photos and videos together.

As the community has grown around the world, so too has the occurrence of instameets, which are gatherings of people coming together to connect, explore, and celebrate their creativity.

A group will meet at a point/location and explore taking photos as they go.

These photos will later be edited and shared on various social media platforms.

Our instameet took us to several locations within Ekurhuleni, giving journalists a chance to explore areas in our neighbouring communities.

Being my first instameet I was unsure of how the day would turn out and if I would enjoy it…

I can firmly say that I did and will definitely join instameets in the future.
