Street lights need to be fixed says resident

Resident concerned about the lack of maintenance in Elspark.

“Concerned tax paying citizen”, Elspark, writes:

It is disturbing to notice so many street lights not working in the suburb of Elspark.

In three streets alone, we have six street lights out of order.

Yes, we have reported them and yes, we have a reference number, probably a month-and-a-half old.

On a regular basis we see the metro’s team and the truck driving up and down the streets, not stopping to inspect or fix the lights.

Is this a cost-saving exercise, or has the budget run dry?

We, as residents, are extremely concerned about the situation as we have already have had one hijacking and one attempted hijacking in the area, not to mention the burglaries which are taking place in the suburb.

If you get to speak to the complaints department the answer is that they will escalate the query, but nothing happens.

Another complaint is the number of burst water pipes in the Elspark area.

At least twice a week, and yes, the metro does repair them on a regular basis, but with the loss of so much precious water.
