Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year, well for the most part.
I don’t enjoy the packed malls or Christmas carols playing on a loop, but I love the food, the presents (both giving and receiving) and ,most of all, the time with family.
At our home we celebrate Christmas the same way every year; we wake up early and open gifts with tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
We then have a traditional family lunch, with everyone helping to cook something.
I wanted to find out how other people celebrate Christmas so posted the question on Facebook.
- Kim Walton: “Waking up early, having a cup of Horlics in my special Christmas mug with a piece of Christmas cake while opening presents, that’s our Christmas tradition.”
- Angelica Bilro: “We wake up early to open presents and then have a traditional lunch. The most important thing is we are together as a family.”
- Caron Thomas: “Our most important Christmas tradition is to spend time together as a family.”
- Michelle Jordan: “We always go to church, then spend the rest of the day with family, nibbling from a cold meat and salad platter.”
- Charmaine Buttrick: “When I was a child we used to stay up till midnight to open presents. Now we have a big Christmas lunch with family, before opening presents.”
However you celebrate, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
