A sight for sore eyes

Germiston city in need of repairs.

Bob Young, Harmelia writes:

My wife and I had reason to drive through the main streets of Germiston during one of the past weekends.

What a sight for sore eyes as we battled to find something good to say about any of the streets, paving and the buildings that could do with some attention.

There is nothing first class, that is for sure; after 20 years little improvement has been made for a city of importance such as Germiston.

One wonders if the mayor and his ”people” have paid a recent visit to many of the areas, and if they have they must be quite happy for the shopkeepers, pedestrians, and road-users to put up with the conditions that we observed.

It is not difficult to see where proper and decent repairs would improve the lot of all the many people who spend their working week in and around Germiston.

Come on Mr Mayor, spend some of the millions of Rand that you rake in every year, instead of writing in your newsletter about all the things for which we are supposed to pat you on the back.
