SAPS and EMPD are no shows

Resident feels let down by law enforcement.

Monique Olivier, Germiston writes:

My husband was involved in an accident on December 20, 2013 at approximately 5.15pm.

Upon my arrival at the scene which was on the corner of Victoria Street and Plantation Road (old SARS offices) it became apparent that the guy who bumped my husband’s bakkie had hit two pedestrians as well.

They were transported to hospital in an ambulance.

I phoned the 10111 line three times for the SAPS and EMPD to be dispatched.

At 6pm still no one had arrived at the accident scene and the man at fault refused to give us any personal particulars for insurance purposes.

I then had to go and look for a police or traffic officer to come and assist us.

Really?

What if someone was really badly hurt or God forbid killed?

Upon finding an EMPD officer and telling them where the scene of the accident was still no one arrived.

This is seriously disgusting service from the “boys in blue”.
