Let me kick off this blog with the recent Mandela family soap opera that is still unfolding.
I was on the edge of my couch listening and watching Mandla Mandela (Madiba’s grandchild) divulge what sounded to me like sensitive family secrets on television.
All that drama just reaffirmed the notion that nobody is perfect.
Some of us might have looked at the Mandela family with awe at the value their last name carries, the money and the fame they have.
But after watching Mandla blast his family on television I starting thinking that maybe my family is not so bad.
I felt the whole purpose of the media brief was unnecessary and quite embarrassing to watch.
Instead of reassuring the nation that all is well and that we do not need to worry about our beloved freedom fighter, Madiba, he took us by surprise and spilled family secrets.
Maybe we should start appreciating whatever we have and whatever we do not have.
