Use public transport

A local resident urges the community to make use of taxis.

Marianne Hall, Homestead, writes:

With the price of petrol and repairs today, I would really encourage people to use the so-called “black” taxis.

When the Homestead bus service was disbanded about two years ago the only transport available was these taxis.

The new vehicles are very comfortable, the drivers are very pleasant, the cost is minimal to Germiston or Primrose and one is dropped off on request.

There are plenty of these on the road, especially between 9am and 3pm.

There is a procedure to be followed, so find out from someone who catches them regularly.

Stop moaning about the rising costs of transport.

Leave your car at home and take a taxi.
