The City of Ekurhuleni has provided a significant update on the ongoing water supply disruptions affecting several areas, including Germiston, Bedfordview, Kempton Park, Thembisa, Springs, and KwaThema.
Key updates from the city highlight recent repairs and efforts to restore water services:
Breaker repairs at Rand Water’s Palmiet Pumping Station were completed on November 6.

Pumping capacity has been increased from 85% to 100%, which has led to positive recovery in the reservoir levels across affected areas.

Germiston:
Water supply in Germiston has improved following the completion of repairs at the Palmiet pumping station. Full-load pumping resumed on the evening of November 6, resulting in a recovery in the local reservoirs. However, the Germiston CBD continues to experience low pressure due to persistently low levels at the Primrose reservoir.
Bedfordview:
Water supply in Bedfordview has been fully restored. However, some high-lying areas are still experiencing low pressure as the reservoirs continue to stabilise.

Dawnview/Primrose:
Water supply is being progressively restored in this area, with the Churchill Pump Station now fully operational. One pump at the Windsor Pump Station is running, and a second pump will be activated later today. Water tankers are being deployed in areas still affected by low levels at the Hilltop reservoir, though supply is gradually improving.
Dinwiddie, Albemarle and surrounding areas:
Residents in these areas are experiencing low pressure or no water in higher-lying locations due to low levels at the Russell Road reservoir.
