The event will feature 48 spots for participants, with an R15 000 prize pool up for grabs.

Players of all levels, regardless of rating or gender, are welcome to join.

Registration is available on Playtomic for R500.

Spectators are encouraged to bring along their socialised pets (on leashes) to enjoy the day, and donations of pet food, toys, blankets, and more, “will be gratefully accepted at our donation box on-site. Every contribution helps make a difference,” added Peacock.

Roxanne Bredenkamp, chairperson of the Germiston Bedfordview SPCA, shared, “In the last six months, since the start of our financial year, we have treated 107 injured, sick stray or surrendered animals, incurring veterinary care costs amounting to R84 204.71.

“These are not routine treatments like adoption sterilisations, but cases of animals arriving at our doorstep in urgent need of care. We rely on the generosity of our community to continue this vital work.”

They are inviting businesses and individuals interested in sponsorship opportunities or making additional donations to reach out to committee3@gbvspca.co.za.
