Daily payment runs are underway, and as of October 9, they processed 822 SLAs for payment.

Faith Mazibuko, Gauteng MEC for Social Development, reiterated the department’s commitment to ensuring the continuation of the essential services provided by NPOs.

“The department is working tirelessly to prevent the disruption of services to the vulnerable.

“Paying nearly 60% of SLAs in the first week of October demonstrates our commitment to resolving outstanding issues and fulfilling our mandate to care for the most vulnerable groups in society,” said Mazibuko.

She further assured all compliant NPOs would receive their payments by the end of October 2024, with regular updates provided to maintain transparency.

Mazibuko emphasised the department’s dedication to collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the well-being of those they serve.
