Germiston sheriff embarks on initiative to help the community

“We serve with dignity, and it is good to give back to the community as the sheriff.”

Germiston residents have benefited from the distribution of 3 000 loaves of bread, an initiative led by Anton Greyling, the sheriff for Germiston South.

The distribution happened between July and August in recognition of Mandela Month and Women’s Month.

This annual initiative, done at the discretion of Sheriff Greyling – who is also the acting sheriff in Pretoria Central – primarily targets maintenance courts and the SASSA building in Germiston.

The sherrifs of Germiston South donated loaves of bread to ermiston residents at the SASSA building.

The effort focuses on aiding elderly residents and welfare organisations in his areas of service.

“We serve our communities with dignity. As sheriffs, we see the need to help where we can.

“This is a community-driven initiative to help those in need. A loaf of bread can go a long way for someone who needs it,” said Greyling.

He added that he is actively involved with various organisations and support systems in Germiston and Pretoria Central, underscoring his commitment to community service.
