“The children shared their daily challenges, they wrote their stories on pieces of paper in a form of short stories, poems, and we pulled that material together to develop a script for the show.”

“Dance came to meet music and everything went as planned. We had so much talent, coming up together. Our rehearsals were unique. It was simple and exciting to see the final product on stage,” said Klink.

Theatre manager Pascar Dube said this June, the Department of Sports, Recreation, Arts, and Culture (SRAC) will be hosting a number of events for Youth Month.

“The Ekurhuleni Young Stars Outreach Programme placed a strong emphasis on children’s rights, signifying the commitment to empowering, educating, and recognising our community’s future stars.

“Through the programme we gave back to the underprivileged communities by having children from those areas benefit from this programme.”

“Starting in early June, SRAC provided a range of masterclasses designed to develop the creative abilities of young people in our community.

“A variety of subjects were covered in these masterclasses, such as visual arts, storytelling, dance, musical theater, and poetry.
