Athletes scoop four medals at Comrades Marathon

Bedfordview Country Club athletes were among those who dominated this year’s Comrades Marathon on June 9.
Out of the 42 members who joined the Ultimate Human Race, the club earned four silver medals, six bronze, eight Bill Rowans, seven Robert Mtshali, 12 Vic Clapham medals and nine PBs.

The club has congratulated silver medalists Vincent Seng (PB) for his time of 6.29, Stephen Caelers with 6.31 (PB), Professor Ncube with 6.49 and Kwasi Ababio with a record of 6.58.

Bill Rowans went to Mike Psaltis (PB), Bheki Khumalo, Shaun Day (PB), Marco de Stefano, Power Mudzunga, Veronica Warmington (PB), Sithembele Booi (PB) and Bronwyn Boswell (PB).

The other PBs were achieved by Tshepo Mohapi and Jarryd Alexander.
Other congratulations went to Jacqui Bunge and Luis da Silva on earning their green numbers.
“Our novices Angelique Pereira and Sean Jones did us proud by completing their very first Comrades Marathon,” said the club’s Maria Paschalides.
