Germiston residents proudly show off their inked thumbs (gallery and video)

Residents eager to vote in 2024 General Election.

Despite reports of long queues at some voting stations, including Hoërskool Goudrif, many Germiston residents remain enthusiastic as they cast their votes in the 2024 General Elections today, May 29.

The community’s determination is evident as voters wait patiently, proudly sharing smiles as they participate in this pivotal democratic process.

Residents also shared why they feel it is important to cast their votes today.

Stephanie Correia:
“I vote because it’s my responsibility to exercise my constitutional right to elect leaders who will bring the kind of change I hope to see in my country and community.”
Bulelwa Majali-Mdluli:
“I vote to see a safer South Africa, a country where students do not have to struggle to get education and have access to funding for their education.”
Willem van Wyk: “I vote to see crime stats go down in the country. I vote for better services, our infrastructure has dilapidated and corruption needs to be stopped.”
