Dan Triangle Karate Club karateka Alexis Chetty grabbed a gold medal in kumite and placed second in kata during the interclub championships at the Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre on May 11.

The youngster was subsequently selected to participate in the national championships at the Portuguese Hall in Johannesburg, on June 8.
