Laerskool Die President welcomes new principal

The GCN had a chat with Rheeder to share his plans for the school.

Laerskool Die President welcomed Ryno Rheeder as the new school principal on April 1.

Rheeder is a Primrose resident with over 20 years of teaching experience.

The GCN had a chat with Rheeder to hear about his plans for the school.

He said that he was grateful to have been appointed the new head of the school.

“The former acting principal, now deputy principal Maria Gildenhuys, did a wonderful job over the years,” said Rheeder.

“I plan to improve the school infrastructure. Over the years I have served as the master of sports. I wish to see the school participate actively in all sporting codes offered by the school.

“We have some courts that need a little bit of attention. We need to also reinforce the school’s security as we had several break-in cases in the past.

“To further improve the teaching and learning process we need to take the school digital and have a computer centre,” said Rheeder.

“I am passionate about teaching history. I love teaching and I will be teaching some classes,” said Rheeder.
