Clr Kade Guerreiro refutes allegations made against him

"To date, the Ward 92 community has had close to 300 opportunities for people from all political parties and all corners of the ward to find work.”

Ward 92 Clr Kade Guerreiro said he refutes the charges made against him.

In response to the accusations, he said that although he, as DA ward councillor, oversees the ward regarding employment chances, their procedure is equitable and guarantees equal opportunity for all applicants, regardless of political party affiliation.

“The ward features an online unemployment registration that gathers data on residents looking for work. Both small- and medium-sized businesses (SMMEs) can use this online approach.

“We also have a post box at the Klopperpark Clinic within the ward where residents can leave CVs and SMME packs. The post box is locked and routinely emptied.

“The ward councillor keeps the CV when it is gathered or entered into the database. Then, it gets submitted to governmental and private initiatives and job openings in Ward 92.

“There are a few requirements: you must live in the ward, be an SA resident, and be registered to vote. Should you meet the requirements, you can take part in the opportunities.

Guerrero said there is no way the CV process results are influenced.

“The individuals raising grievances belong to a specific political party, and since 2021, they have been asked repeatedly to ensure their details are submitted for opportunities and to follow a fair process.

“Most companies have firsthand experience with these individuals stopping projects, fighting, and making demands. Their behaviour is negatively affecting our community and economic development.”

Guerreiro added that the community meetings are open to all in the ward, and the participants can ask questions.

The next meeting is on March 14.

“Service delivery topics are discussed in all our meetings, including the challenges facing Elandsfontein.

“The council needs to approve our IDP request for a full system of sewage upgrade in Elandsfontein. Elandsfontein has many illegal connections and bypassed meters,” said Guerreiro.
