Help Albermale dancer compete in dance championships held in England

Rethabile has participated in the competition in the UK twice before; on both occasions, her team organised fundraisers to help her with the expenses.

Albermale, Germiston resident Rethabile Radebe seeks the financial support of the community to help fulfil her ambition of competing in Blackpool, England.

Rethabile is a talented dancer and choreographer.

In June, she is scheduled to participate in the 2024 World Freestyle Dance Championships, which will be held in England during the Blackpool Dance Festival between June 28 to 30.

She began dancing when she was between ten and eleven years old.

A Grade 12 learner at Grace Trinity School for Girls, she battled her way into the festival after winning multiple qualifying domestic events.

Pro dancers from all over the world come to the festival, which is regarded as the most renowned ballroom dancing competition in the world.

Rethabile’s mother, Dimakatso Monyela, said that her daughter, who is 16 years old and will soon turn 17 years old, has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet her dreams.

Rethabile has participated in the competition in the UK twice before. On both occasions her team organised fundraisers to help her with the expenses.

But things are not looking good this year, so time is of the essence.

Monyela went on to say that her daughter is motivated to place in the top three, breaking her own record of placing fifth twice in the past.

“Costume costs, accommodation and travels will be covered by the required monies. We’ve continued to pursue the same individuals throughout the years for support; this time, we need the support of the entire city.”

Rethabile was granted a scholarship to study at Grace Trinity School for Girls which covers half her study fees.
She also represents the school in dance and undertook dance as a module.
