Dawnview High plans for the year ahead

The class of 2023 attained 45 distinctions, and 31 Bachelors.

Dawnview High School principal Moeketsie Kolokoto shared his vision for the school this year.

Last year, the school did well in sports, establishing itself as a school to be reckoned with.

Mikara Nokraj flew South Africa and the school flags high when she competed in the Afro-Arab Esports League in Saudi Arabia in August.

The class of 2023 obtained 45 distinctions.

“This year, we have a positive group of learners who will take the school to glory. We are aiming for a 100% pass rate. As a school, we have already implemented strategies to help reach our target,” said Kolokoto.

Kolokolo said though the school is equipped to strive, external elements still affect it, including crime.

“Often, our learners report being mugged. Though we work with the SAPS, we still urge learners to take caution when walking the streets, especially after Saturday classes.”

Kolokolo has been the principal for 12 years and has established relationships in the community.

He has worked closely with the School Governing Body (SBG) committee members. The school invites the community to the SGB elections on March 9.
