Aldermanship bestowed upon four Ekurhuleni councillors

The honorary title of Alderman is bestowed upon councillors in line with the City’s Conferment of Civic Honours Policy.

Speaker of council Clr Nthabiseng Tshivhenga bestowed the title and status of Aldermanship upon four councillors of Ekurhuleni on January 25.

The honorary title of Alderman is bestowed upon councillors in line with the City’s Conferment of Civic Honours Policy.

Four councillors were honoured including Executive Mayor Sivuyile Ngondwana.

It is presented to councillors who, amongst other criteria, have over several years, served on one or more local government bodies within the Republic of South Africa.

The honorary title is conferred once a year, as and when councillors reach the required milestone and they will retain the title even after they leave public office.

Four councillors were honoured including Executive Mayor Sivuyile Ngondwana as well as councillors Sizakele Masuku, Jane Nhlapo-Koto and and Dino Peterson.
